Following the theory of organic decentralization and borrowing the method of micro unit control in Singapore, we adopted a beehive planning structure in Pengzhou. After thoroughly researched the city’s development capacity and took all factors into consideration, we made a comprehensive analysis over central city population, green space system, public facilities, transport system, etc. The scheme of Pengzhou city construction is in coordination with the practical situation and considers the long-term development, which ensures the planning products won’t lag in 20 to 50 years.
The design of public space pays attention to humanized scale, dividing the central city into 19 neighborhood units. Based on the principle of arrangement stemming from balance and quality, we organically arranging ancillary facilities such as commercial, health, educational, community, and public transport service, with green space and parks, forming different layers of municipal, areal and community centers, in order to enhance attractiveness, cohesion and vitality of communities, and provide more convenience for daily life of residents and reduce long-distance travel within the city.
